SpotLight Chicago Channel 9 WGN

On January 21st, the Chicago Chinese Culture and Arts Society (CCCAS) performed a Chinese folk dance on a WGN TV show. While the dancers performed, Dr. Hong Liu, Executive Director of the Midwest Asian Health Association (MAHA), discussed the holiday traditions of the Chinese Lunar New Year.

2025 New Year celebration of the Chinese community in the Chicagoland

The first major 2025 New Year celebration of the Chinese community in the Chicagoland area was held at the Drury Lane Theater, Oakbrook Terrace, IL on January 4th.

This gala event was hosted by:

US Asian American Leadership Council (AALC)
American Chinese Charity Organization (ACCO)
Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community (CBCAC)
Midwest Asian Health Association (MAHA).

The Chicago Chinese Culture & Arts Society (CCCAS) President, Ye Liu, served as Co-chair, General Event Manager and Program Coordinator for this event.

In addition, members of the Chicago Chinese Culture and Arts Society (CCCAS) were invited to participate in singing and dancing performances, as well as volunteer services.

A highlight of the awards presentation was Ye Liu
receiving the “Outstanding Social Service Leadership Award,” for contributions and services in the community.

Dragon Dance Performance at The 8th CGCC Annual Gafa

On December 3rd, 2024, the Chicago Chinese Culture and Arts Society (CCCAS) performed the dragon dance at the Hilton Chicago. The Hilton Chicago is located overlooking Grant Park, within a half mile of Buckingham Fountain, The Art Institute of Chicago, and Wabash Arts Corridor. The event was the 8th annual CGCC Gala. Mike Pence was one of the speakers.

This is a practice and rehearsal for the November 9th Event at McKinley Park. After hours and days of rehearsing and putting together the program, I am getting excited. This event is packed with Chinese culture, colorful clothes, dancing, singing, and a lot of talent. You will not want to miss this event. November 9th, 2024, at McKinley Park @ 12:30 Thru 3:30pm

Coming Event November 9th 2024

I Wanna Be a Star, Episode 8 Gala, will start at 12:30 PM and run until 3:30 PM on November 9, 2024. The event will feature singing and dancing, as well as a fashion show. It will be held at McKinley Park, 2210 W. Pershing Road, Chicago, IL 60609. The event is presented by McKinley Park and the Chicago Chinese Culture and Arts Society.
